Removing joists from chancel floor
Much of the structure remaining above the chancel floor has been shored and the work of removing the joists is underway. The wood from the joists has been recovered and shipped for a new use.
The plaster walls are supported by the joists and so they have to be supported before the rest can be cut off and removed
The inset ends of the old joists remain in the walls.
